From November to February, wind is always from the northwest; from April to August, wind is always from the southeast; and typhoon and rainstorm may come during June to October. Annual average velocity is 3.0m/s, and max. velocity is 30m/s. |
Rainfall: | Annual average rainfall is 1110.9mm, annual max. rainfall is 1659mm. Over the years, annual number of days with rainfall not less than 0.1mm is 129.1, not less than 5.0mm is 55.8, not less than 10.0mm is 34.4, not less than 25.0mm is 11.4. Rain season is always in June and July, which will last one month. There are few snowy days. |
Fog: | Number of annual average foggy days is 35.7. Foggy days are always in November, December and January. |
Temperature: | Annual average temperature is 15.8℃. July is the hottest month, with average temperature of 27.8℃, and January is the coldest with average temperature of 3.7℃. Extreme max. temperature could be 40.2℃, and extreme min. temperature could be -12.1℃. |

Tide: | Both Yangtze River Estuary and Huangpu River are regular semi-diurnal tides. Huangpu River, from Wusong River Estuary to Dianshang Lake with length of113km long, is impacted by tided. When tide rises, sea water flows into Huangpu River from Wusong River Estuary, while tide falls flows to Yangtze River. The data are so different from different parts of Huangpu River, the inner, the lower the max. tide level. |
Tidal Current: | Out of Yangtze River Estuary, the tidal current spins clockwise. In the Huangpu River, the tidal current is reversing alone the riverway. |
